Trials to select the Open Team to represent Ulster at the 2025 Inter-Provincials (Knightsbrook Hotel, Co Meath, on 29-30 November 2025) are scheduled to take place at Kelvin Malone Bridge Club, Belfast, on September 27-28 and October 11-12.

The Trials, which are organised on a Pairs basis, are open to NIBU members who meet the criteria set out in the current Home International Regulations published on the Bridge Great Britain website at the discretion of the Selection Committee. In addition to NIBU members the trials are also open to players from Cavan, Monaghan, and Donegal who wish to represent Ulster in the Inter-Provincials. If they are eligible to represent Northern Ireland, these players may also attempt to qualify for the Northern Ireland Camrose team, which will be selected from the same trials.

The entry fee to play in the trials is £100 per player and it must be paid be paid no later than the closing date for entries on Sunday 31 August 2025. Payment is by online banking only, directly into the NIBU bank account 15029055: Sort code 98-01-40. No exceptions will be made to this requirement.

Entries including confirmation that the entry fee has been paid and an electronic copy of the pairs convention card in a format complying with regulations must be emailed to Michael Coffey by midnight on Sunday August 31 2025. It must include the names and e-mail addresses of at least one player of each partnership. The format of the trials will be notified to participants within seven days of the closing date for entries.

Players from Cavan, Monaghan, and Donegal who wish to be considered for the Master or Intermediate Teams for the Inter-Provincials, which are not selected by trials, should communicate their interest in being selected to Michael Coffey as soon as possible.
