Many congratulations to the Irish team which led from start to finish to win the Teltscher Trophy (Senior Camrose) over the weekend of 16-18 April on RealBridge.
BJ O’Brien, Ranald Milne, Padraig O Briain, Micheal O Briain, Terry Walsh, and Peter Goodman, under NPC Derek O’Gorman, won four of their five matches (the only exception a very narrow defeat to Scotland in their final match) and emerged very comfortable winners over second-placed England, with Scotland third. This is Ireland’s third Teltscher win, and completes a hat-trick for the O Briain brothers, who also played in the other two victories. BJ O’Brien played in one of the previous wins, and was NPC in the other, while Peter Goodman had also previously captained a successful team. Well done to them all on a great result!
In the Lady Milne Trophy (Women’s Camrose), the Irish team of Gilda Pender, Hilary McDonagh, Joan Kenny, Jeannie Fitzgerald, Rebecca Brown (O’Keeffe), and Siobhan Part, with NPC Paul Porteous. won one and drew one of their five matches, to finish in the third place, best of the pack chasing the two dominant teams, winners England, and runners-up Scotland.
