A group of nineteen Irish juniors, all of the relatively inexperienced variety, attended a junior summer camp in Stirling, Scotland, courtesy of BAMSA (Bridge as a MindSport for All) and the Scottish Bridge Union. Our thanks to them for organising the event and extending an invitation to our juniors. Thanks also to Margaret Murphy of Kilkenny who attended with our group.

The Irish Contingent at the SBU Summer Camp

The event was a great success, and the juniors all really enjoyed themselves, and learned a lot. Ireland had two winners over the weekend. Well done to Danny Beirne Bowden and Alan Meinderink (Kilkenny) who won the pairs competition and Isabel Conachy and Klara Flanagan who won the speedball competition.

Pairs Winners

The Irish Junior Committee has organised similar summer camps in the past, but not since covid. Perhaps we should look at this again next year – please watch this space.
