We are pleased to report that the Drogheda ABCD Centre was the first club to return to live bridge since the cessation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, with an open night on Tuesday 22 September. Well done to all those involved who put in all the hard work to make this possible.

Reports are that the players all enjoyed themselves, and were delighted to be back at the table with cards in their hands, although the new protocols did take some adjusting to. The club is planning regular bridge from here on, and the expectation is that numbers will increase as word gets out, although as ever it would be remiss of us not to highlight for all clubs that (a) anyone feeling unwell and/or displaying any COVID-like symptoms should NOT attend, and (b) some people will naturally be cautious about returning and should not be put under any pressure to do so.

It’s great to see members back at the table, even if they are a little harder to recognise than normal, and we hope that Drogheda will be the first of many clubs to return to live bridge.
