Given that most people have a bit more time on their hands than normal these days, we are finding lots of interest in learning bridge, or in improving your bridge if you are already playing. All tuition is currently online for the moment, of course, but a number of our CBAI-accredited teachers are embracing the virtual arena, and the platforms for online learning are also adapting quickly. You’ll find a full list of the teachers active online here, and we will keep members posted periodically on new developments in this area.

Former junior international Declan Byrne has set up an online teaching facility, with beginners’ classes commencing on 12 January 2021, and is also offering bespoke sessions for beginners and improvers. Declan will use a combination of Zoom video-conferencing technology and BBO and/or RealBridge to deliver his sessions. You will find full details here, and you can email Declan for further details.

Grand Master Bridge is an exciting new online bridge academy being developed by Thomas MacCormac and Rory Egan. They will be holding structured classes for beginners, progressive beginners, and improvers, and have already begun offering specific seminars for improvers and advanced players, which have been very well received. Again the platform combines Zoom, BBO, and RealBridge. It is also intended to open an online Grand Master Bridge club, with events five nights a week, starting in January. Email Rory for full details, and to be included on their mailing list for future sessions.

Michael O’Loughlin is offering classes at improver and intermediate level; for details and to enrol check the details here. He is also sending out three bridge emails (lessons, videos, quizzes) per week, if you’d like to keep your hand in wihtout formal classes. To register for this service contact Michael by email; there is a small monthly charge.
