We regret to announce the recent death of Martin Hayes of Cappawhite, Co Tipperary, who served as CBAI National President in 2008, representing North Munster. Martin had only recently gone into a nursing home, and did not have much time to enjoy his new surroundings. He will be missed by his wife, Mary, his brothers Brendan, Kevin, and Joseph, and his step-sister Breda, as well as a wide circle of relatives and friends.
Because of current circumstances, the funeral is restricted to immediate family only, but messages of sympathy can be sent to his nephew, Joe Hayes, Highview, Greenshill, Kilkenny.
Also, in a strange coincidence, Catherine Kiely, widow of Johnny Kiely, who was CBAI National President in 1986, also from North Munster and a very close friend of Martin’s, passed away on Wednesday last. Her address was Bun na Coille, Cahir, Co Tipperary.
