Lady Milne Trophy 2023

The weekend of 21-23 April sees the Lady Milne (Women’s Home International) Trophy, being hosted by Scotland in the Mercure Hotel in Perth. Kibitzers are welcome all weekend, and all the matches will be broadcast, with a 30-minute delay, on RealBridge, including commentary from a panel of expert commentators.

In 1934 the Lady Milne started as the Ladies Team Championship of the (British) National Bridge Association run by Hubert Phillips. In 1950, it became the trophy for the Ladies Home Internationals, with one team from each of the four countries within the UK. Fast forward to 2023, and there have been a number of changes, including the presence of an Irish team, and an extra team from the host nation, so this year an SBU team as well as a Scotland team.

Best of luck to the Irish team, all of whom have previous Lady Milne experience: Joan Kenny & Jeannie Fitzgerald (fresh from their Moylan victory last weekend), Rebecca O’Keeffe-Brown & Gilda Pender, and Teresa Rigney and Siobhan Part, with Paul Porteous as NPC. We have never won the Lady Milne, but this year’s team has been practicing hard and preparing well, and we have high hopes of breaking our duck this time around.

You’ll find a full list of the players and their convention cards here

Here is the link to watch the vugraph on RealBridge, with the 30-minute delay. Our first match on Friday night is against England, starting at 19:00 (so 19:30 on RealBridge).
