We are pleased to present the second issue of the new Irish Bridge Journal – in PDF format (easier for printing) and in page-turning format for those who prefer to read it that way. The CBAI recently took over the publication of the Journal when Una Walsh called time on her publishing career after she, and her brother Paddy before her, had produced the magazine personally for forty-two years – a fantastic service to Irish bridge.
Thanks again to our editor Enda Murphy, our designer Sue Power, all our contributors, and of course our advertisers. You’ll find lots of interesting and informative articles, along with tips and guidance from some of our top teachers, and the new Journal continues the tradition of both a Bidding and a Play Quiz, with prizes for the best reader entries over the full year. The response to the quizzes last time might best be described as “muted”. Please give them a go; we promise that the only names that will appear are those who do well!
Your feedback on the last Journal issue was very helpful, and we continue to welcome your comments and suggestions. We’re also in the market for new contributions, especially from intermediate, novice, and junior players, so if you have any ideas for features, please let Enda Murphy know.
