We are pleased to present the Autumn 2025 edition of the Irish Bridge Journal, along with the CBAI’s traditional annual start of season Newsletter. You’ll find the two combined here (Journal then Newsletter). If you wish to read only one of them, or both separately, click the relevant button(s) below.

Irish Bridge Journal, Autumn 2025 CBAI Newsletter 2025

The Newsletter contains all the essential information for season 2025/26, plus reports from all the CBAI’s thirteen regions on their activities, and lots of pictures of pirzewinners and other notables – so you may find yourself there. Our caption for the front cover is “Who are those three fellas with Paul Porteous?”

In the Journal, you will find the usual bidding and play quizzes, alongside instructional articles from Peter Pigot and James Heneghan, a review of their trip to Ireland for the Regent Centenary Congress by international husband-and-wife partnership Irene Baroni and Thomas Bessis, reminiscences from Irish bridge historian Seamus Dowling (going back 50 years) and junior coach Karel De Raeymaeker (nearly 30 years of junior bridge), plus Luca Crone’s analysis of an Irish win in Italy, Jim Doyle on the ethical issues caused by hesitations at the table, and Nicola O’Dowd and Melissa Brady’s regular articles on their (very rapid) bridge development.

We hope you will enjoy both publications. Thanks as always to designer Sue Power, who produces both periodicals, and to Enda Murphy, who edits the Journal. Thanks also to our advertisers, without whom producing material of this depth and quality would not be possible. Please support them whenever you can.
