We were all disappointed when Hilary McDonagh (formerly Dowling-Long) had to step back from some CBAI commitments during last season to devote herself to her PhD research.
We are pleased to report that she put the time to good use, and that bridge’s loss was psychology’s gain, as Hilary’s work will feature as part of a BBC True North programme on the subject of stammering, next Monday, 15 September, at 22:40 on BBC Northern Ireland. In the programme, three young people in Northern Ireland confront stigma, find support, and learn to speak with confidence while living with a stammer.
You’ll find full details, and perhaps some more material after the programme has aired, here. Best of luck to Hilary with her research efforts.
