The first weekend of the new year brings two events for Irish bridge players – one to watch and one to play in.
The Waterford Congress Committee will hold two sets of Gala Open Pairs events in place of the full Congress this season. The competitions are:
- Friday 7 January at 19:30: Master/Intermediate A Gala Pairs; Intermediate B/Novice Gala Pairs
- Saturday 8 January at 19:30 : Master/Intermediate A Gala Pairs; Intermediate B/Novice Gala Pairs
These are standalone single-session events and players may enter either or both evening events as they wish. The entry fee is BB$5 per session. Pre-entry is required to John Phelan including your real name, BBO name, and grade.
And good luck to the Irish team competing in the first weekend of the Camrose (home international) Trophy. Originally planned for Bristol, this will now take place online on RealBridge, and kibitzing will be possible (with a time-delay for security reasons), using this link, and you’ll find the running results here.
