We are pleased to announce that the CBAI has linked up with Funbridge to offer daily CBAI tournaments. If you are not familiar with Funbridge, it is an app that allows you to play in a variety of tournaments and challenges with robots. A very basic version is free of charge, but you will have to pay to utilise many of the elements of the app.
The CBAI tournaments will consist of 12 boards, which you play in partnership with a robot, and where you can compare your scores to those of the other human participants at the end of the tournament. You can play all 12 boards in a sitting, or, if you prefer, leave the tournament and resume it later – a bit like the “daylong” tournaments on BBO. These new CBAI Funbridge tournaments will be free on weekdays until 15 March; thereafter there will be a small charge to play. Some of the tournaments are scored in Matchpoints, some in IMPs, so be sure to check the form of scoring before you play.
Like BBO, Funbridge awards its own masterpoints. We have also agreed to award local masterpoints within the CBAI scheme for Irish participants who do well. You will of course need to be affiliated to the CBAI, and to provide your NBID on Funbridge, to benefit from CBAI masterpoints. Note that the CBAI tournaments will NOT be exclusive to Irish players.
The CBAI tournaments will be available on Funbridge on smartphones and tablets, or on the version for web browsers on computers, but NOT on the downloadable version of Funbridge for PC or Mac.
You’ll find more details on the CBAI Funbridge tournaments here. Give them a go and let us know what you think.
