The CBAI intends to hold trials to select a team for the Camrose Trophy (home international open championship) 2022. This event is provisionally scheduled to be held in England on 7-9 January 2022 and in Scotland on 4-6 March 2022, public health conditions permitting.

The trials will be held over two weekends, October 22-25 2021, and November 12-14 2021, provisionally in the Templeogue Bridge Centre. The decision on whether to proceed with in-person trials will be kept under review, with a final decision being made no later than the week commencing 4 October. In the event that a face-to-face competition is not considered possible, the trials will be moved online.

The trials will be run on a team basis, and entries will be accepted from teams of four or six players. Please note that the International Committee requires that all players must have more than 100 National Points, with no exceptions. If the level of entries requires both weekends, the top four teams from the first weekend will qualify for the second weekend; if only one weekend is required, it will be October 22-25. The team that finishes first in the trials will be selected to represent Ireland in the Camrose Trophy.

The closing date for entries is 1 October, and entries, accompanied by the entry fee of €150 per player, must be submitted to CBAI headquarters by that date. The International Committee may in exceptional circumstances accept entries after that date, but no commitment is given in that regard. In the event of online trials, €100 will be refunded to each player. Full details, along with the regulations for the trials, are in the notice below.
