A reminder that the popular Belfast Swiss Pairs will take place on BBO on Sunday 15 November, starting at 11:00 and finishing at approximately 17:45. The format is one long session with a short break of about an hour halfway through. There will be a separate section for Intermediates, and pre-entry is required. And congratulations to Kelan O’Connor, who was the highest ranked Irish player in the recent Bridge International Championship, averaging almost 60% in the final phase and finishing a very impressive 43rd in a field of more than 4,200 participants. Ciaran Coyne was second amongst the Irish players, and Jeannie Fitzgerald third. While the participant numbers across the world were not as high as anticipated, the organisers are likely to plan this event again for next season, so if anyone who played in it has any feedback, we’ll be pleased to pass it on.
