Well done to the Grand Master Bridge trio of Thomas MacCormac, Rory Egan, and Jason Doyle on their inaugural congress over the weekend – starting in Lansdowne Football Club on the Friday night (following on from the ACBL Sectional Tournament run there earlier in the week) and culminating in the Templeogue Bridge Centre. The winners of the various competitions were:

- Gala Pairs: Mary Timoney & Donek Szenejko
- Novice Pairs: Anthony Alken & Rosario Kealy
- Teams: Anne Keating, Deirdre Tuckey, Seamus Costello, Dermot O’Brien
It was a great honour for Ireland to host the ACBL Sectional tournament – the first ever to be held outside North America. Though the attendance was not huge, the word is that all our US, UK, and European visitors enjoyed themselves, and it may be possible to repeat this exercise in the future.
