Daniel O’Donnell very kindly returned to Durrow to lend his support once again to a charity bridge event organised within the South Midland Region, in aid of South Laois St Vincent de Paul. There was a fantastic turnout of 53 tables in support of this very worthy cause, €3,800 was raised, and everyone had a great night. The competition was expertly run by national TD Diarmuid Reddan, and apparently Daniel even sang a few songs this time around.
Well done to the local parish priest Father Martin Delaney and John Bowe for organising this event, and many thanks to Daniel for attending. He is a very keen bridge player, and has been good enough to support several CBAI events. He’s also a very good bridge player, by all accounts … although at least this time he had the good grace not to win the competition, as he did last time!
