The IBU’s Inter-County Teams competitions, for the Burke (Open) and O’Connor (Intermediate) Trophies, took place in the new venue of Knightsbrook Hotel & Country Club over the weekend of 21/22 March, and our thanks to all who attended.

Team Delaney led most of the way in the Burke, successfully defending the trophy they won in each of the past two seasons to complete a hat-trick. A loss in the final match did not derail them, as their nearest challengers (also runners-up last year) emerged with a similar score and could not close the gap. The leaderboard changed more often in the O’Connor, and it took a very strong final round from the eventual winners to overtake the runners-up, pipping them by less than a single Victory Point.
Capacity constraints within the hotel meant that a few interested teams missed out on the Burke; our apologies to them. Thanks to our TDs, Fearghal O’Boyle, Mairead Basquille, and Huey Daly for making sure the weekend ran smoothly.
