In 4FunTeams, an “A” partners a “B”, and a Novice partners a Master in the 4 person Team. Fancy Dress encouraged. Entries to CBAI HQ on 01-4929666.
Early diary date: the 2011 Bray Swiss Teams will probably be on Sunday 11 September in Greystones. So organise your team now to start the fun for a whole new bridge season!

Text Box: HIGHS AND LOWS OF THE YEAR
GOOD NEWS: ER’s programme of promoting bridge to transition year students has been successful in Blackrock College, Loreto Bray and St. David’s Greystones. The uptake and enthusiasm was positive and it’s hoped this can grow.
We also salute our hardy players who braved the snow to play in the Cleary Cup.
Our thanks also to Martin Hogan for filling in, at 20 minutes notice, in the A Pairs (he was rewarded by coming 3rd with Gary Dowling!).
We also had a bridge marriage this year, when Paul O’Reilly and Liz Ann Doyle became a pair. Congratulations to both!
SAD NEWS : While we all love the game, it is the friends we make along the way that really count.
On a personal level, it would be remiss to let the year go by without mentioning the passing of Celia McStravick.
Celia was a member of a number of clubs including Cuala and Greystones, but was particularly synonymous with Bray Bridge Club, where she was an officer on the committee for many years. Despite being ill for a number of years, she was a constant at the bridge table. Celia worked away quietly, getting tables set up and was always involved in organising party nights.
May Celia (and any other departed bridge club friends you may remember) rest in peace.
