Waterford Bridge Centre A)Many bridge players have expressed the desire to improve their bridge bidding and play. Accordingly, there would appear to be a demand for a bridge ‘improvers’ course. Such a course will be put in place this coming January, whereby many aspects of modern bridge bidding and play will be the focus. Arrangements have not been fully finalised as yet. The tentative plans are: course commencing on Tuesday, 17th January 2012, and continuing each subsequent Tuesday, commencing at 7.45 pm each night; the tutors will be national or regional master bridge players; there will be a nominal charge of €5 per person per night; there will be a specific bridge topic with a specific tutor each night, announced in advance; and ALL bridge players, but particularly those in Waterford and its environs, are invited to attend those courses. More anon. B) A weekend symposium will be arranged, particularly directed at those who attend the ‘improvers’ courses, to be presented by one or two of our current Irish international bridge players, provided there is sufficient demand there-for, in March or April next. |
